Yoga Practice

Classical, conscious practice — not merely exercise, but a disciplined way to align body, breath, and awareness. Sessions are shaped by a Master's in Yoga and years of devoted sadhana.

Yoga practice with Krinda

What Yoga Means at Krinda

Yoga is union — of effort and ease, of movement and stillness, of the individual self with something vaster. At Krinda, yoga is taught as a living tradition: respectful of classical texts and lineages, yet practical for modern life. Whether you seek physical health, mental clarity, or spiritual depth, practice is adapted to where you are today, not where an idealised textbook says you should be.

Instruction emphasises safety, precision, and inner attention over performance. Poses are means, not ends. Breath is the bridge. Awareness is the goal.

Remember: Yoga is for householders as much as for renunciates. You do not need to be flexible, young, or already calm. You need willingness and consistency — the rest unfolds in time.

What Sessions Include

Each session is tailored, but typically weaves together these elements:

  • Asana — postures practised with alignment, breath coordination, and appropriate modification for your body
  • Pranayama — systematic breath control and expansion to calm the nervous system and steady the mind
  • Shatkriya — advice on classical cleansing practices when appropriate for physical health and balance
  • Yoga Nidra — structured, deep relaxation that releases deep physical, mental, and emotional tensions
  • Yogic Philosophy — simple, experiential integration of classical sutras to bring wisdom to daily life challenges

Approach & Principles

Individualised practice

No two bodies or life situations are alike. Sequences are designed around your age, health conditions, energy levels, and intentions — whether that is easing back pain, building strength, preparing for meditation, or simply feeling more alive in daily life.

Classical roots, contemporary clarity

Teaching draws on established yogic sciences studied at postgraduate level, including anatomy of movement, pranayama theory, and the philosophical context of practice. Explanations are clear and free of unnecessary jargon.

Integration with healing and meditation

Yoga at Krinda does not exist in isolation. Where appropriate, sessions align with the Abhiruitu Method of Healing and meditative work, so physical practice supports emotional release and inner stillness rather than competing with them.

Benefits You May Notice

With regular practice, students often report:

  • Improved flexibility, strength, and postural awareness
  • Better sleep and more stable energy through the day
  • Reduced muscular tension and joint discomfort
  • Greater capacity to manage stress and reactive emotions
  • Increased breath capacity and respiratory ease
  • A calmer mind and greater sense of inner spaciousness
  • Deeper connection to purpose and daily mindfulness

Session Formats

Private sessions

One-to-one guidance — ideal for beginners, specific health needs, or accelerated progress. Typically 60–90 minutes.

Small groups

Intimate groups of two to five allow personal attention while sharing energy and motivation. Suitable for families or friends.

Online practice

Live video sessions for those unable to attend in person. Clear verbal cues and camera angles support safe home practice.

Your First Session

  1. Brief consultation — We discuss your health history, goals, and any limitations. Honesty here ensures safety and relevance.
  2. Assessment — Simple observation of posture, breath, and mobility informs the practice plan.
  3. Guided practice — A balanced sequence at an appropriate pace, with clear instruction and adjustments as needed.
  4. Integration — Relaxation and reflection; you leave with one or two practices to try before the next meeting.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Avoid heavy meals for two hours before practice. A yoga mat is helpful; props can be improvised or discussed in advance.
